Celebrating with Shaun and Friends
Shaun Doty has been stirring up tasty dishes in Inman Park for two years now and he kicked off the celebration with some help from two chef friends.
Time flies when sumptuous meals, creative drinks and great friends are a daily goal. Shaun’s knows. It’s been two years since Shaun Doty opened his little bistro in Inman Park, where he actually lives, but there will be many more. Esquire recognized that when it crowned Shaun’s one of its best restaurants of 2007. To celebrate the momentous occasion Shaun gathered a few chef friends—former Top Chef: Chicago finalist Richard Blais, most recently of Home, and Craig Sauls who helms the Original El Taco opening in a few days in Virginia Highlands---to create dishes and kick off the celebration spanning from Wednesday, October 8 to Sunday, October 12.
On the menu was Sauls’ masa sopes with bbq chicken, chili and cilantro, Blais’ hamachi with fried chicken feet and smoked mayonnaise ravioli as well as the basted cod with crispy clams, radish and apple cider and Doty’s heritage pork schnitzel, onion salad, peanuts, snow pea leaves and foie gras crouton as well as black rice pudding with cardamom and Mississippi Tupelo honey ice cream. Of course Metromix was seated at the front of the table.
