If you have a taste for barbecue, then check out the new D.B.A. Barbecue in Virginia-Highland. The extensive menu isn't limited to smoked meats, though those are a highlight. There's also a selection of sandwiches and starters like a plate of fried pickles and fried bacon (yes, that's bacon that has been battered and fried). The long list of side items (we counted 21 in all) includes the well-like three-cheese mac-n-cheese, cole slaw, sweet potato fries, fried corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, Brunswick stew and braised collard greens.
