Burger counter opens at Sweet Auburn Curb Market
So you haven't checked out the Sweet Auburn Curb Market yet? Grindhouse Killer Burgers is giving you a reason to stop by. The newly opened burger spot is located along a back wall of the market, which offers fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and desserts.
The eatery serves beef burgers, turkey burgers and veggie burgers (bean and quinoa). You can try one of the signature burgers, like the Grindhouse Style (with lettuce, grilled onions, pickles, American cheese and grindhouse sauce) or the Cowboy Style (thick-cut bacon, crispy Vidalia onions, shredded cheddar and barbecue sauce), or add your own toppings from a list of cheeses, veggies and sauces. The menu also features salads and chili, as well as crinkle-cut French fries, Vidalia onion rings and sweet potato kettle chips. Plus, there's milkshakes and soft-serve ice cream, which can be ordered in a cup or cone or swirled with fruit or crumbled candy bars.
You'll order at the cash register before having a seat on one of the metal stools along the counter, which is made of reclaimed wood. The food is served up retro-diner style, on a tray covered with a piece of brown waxed paper. Each burger comes in a white paper wrapper, marked with the eatery's logo, that's craftily folded into a pocket to keep all the toppings from falling out.
And while you're at the market, you'll want to check out the rest of it—come prepared to take home veggies, fruit or even a smoked turkey leg. And maybe another order from Grindhouse.—Rachael Mason, Metromix
