Rey's Cuban Cafe

Cuba native Reynaldo “Rey” Martinez focuses on offering the most authentic Cuban cuisine in the area at his restaurant. Nine meat dishes, from the picadillo (ground beef stewed with tomatoes, herbs, green olives and raisins) to the vaca frita (flank steak grilled with sauteed onions) make up the menu, which also includes four kinds of rice, black beans, red beans and fried plantains. Sandwiches, like the classic Cuban and the Elena Ruz (smoked turkey, cream cheese and strawberry preserves on Cuban bread), are served with plantain chips. Desserts include arroz con leche (rice pudding), natilla (vanilla pudding with a touch of cinnamon) and churros (fried dough with sugar, cinnamon and whipped cream on top).
