It’s sexy, it’s sleek and it’s styling. It’s Whiskey Park, the recently opened bar in the new W Atlanta Midtown hotel.

Created by Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s husband, and his brother Scott, Whiskey Park is a modern bar-meets-lounge that attracts celebrities and professionals alike. Everyone from Dallas Austin and Gnarls Barkley to Tommy Lee and Cee-Lo has been spotted at this watering hole frequented by men in suits.

Open seven days a week, Whiskey Park serves potent drinks, and a DJ spins Top 40 dance hits, rock and mash-up tunes Thursday through Saturday. The triple-room facility features a hopping patio and an energetic vibe. The scene is rockin’ and the patrons are stylin’. At Whiskey Park, there’s no such thing as being overdressed.

Atmosphere: Located on the third floor of the W, Whiskey Park has a sultry vibe, with the servers and bar staff donning short black cocktail dresses and knee-high boots, and the crowd dressed to the nines. The expansive bar and lounge, characterized by large, elaborate chandeliers and designed by ICrave with modern Versace influences, is divided into three areas, each with its own distinct look.

“Whiskey Park is an impressive space comprised of several distinctively designed rooms that will truly differentiate our bar,” Rande Gerber emphasizes.

Upon entering, guests climb an eye-catching stairway to reach the Gallery Bar, which is characterized by an oversized bronze mirror and lucite bar stools with black back tassels. Next comes the Crystal Lounge with cream leather sofas, plush couches, mirrored tile walls and a DJ booth. Here, round, mirrored tables feature cutouts to hold buckets of wine and champagne. Finally, guests reach The Vault, an intimate space with dark wood floors, black lacquered walls and a bar framed by black and red mosaic tiles and padded squares that have an odd resemblance to safety-deposit boxes. Outside, the patio breaks away from the bar’s New York style to convey a neo-classic Miami feel.

Drinks: Whiskey Park boasts 23 feature cocktails, along with beer, wine and a full bar. Highlights include the Acai-Blueberry Martini, made with Van Gogh Acai-Blueberry vodka and lemonade; the Clementine Crush, composed of Svedka Clementine vodka, tonic, fresh ginger root and orange juice, and sugar; the Guava sin, created with Herradura Silver, Triple Sec, fresh guava puree, lemon and lime; and the Pomegranate Margarita, a combination of Cazadores Reposado tequila, Cointreau, pomegranate juice and fresh lime juice.

Standard bar selections include high-end brands of port, cognac and scotch, as well as vodka, rum, gin, bourbon and tequila. Champagne and wine are also served, both by the glass and by the bottle. There’s never a cover charge, and the W’s website claims hotel guest can skip the line for the bar.

History: Whiskey Park Atlanta is one of many Gerber Group nightlife endeavors around the world. The company started 15 years ago with the trademark brand The Whiskey and has continued to evolve with bar and lounge creations playing on the Whiskey name, from Whiskey Blue in Los Angeles and New Orleans, to Whiskey Sky in Chicago, to The Whiskey in Mexico City, as well as other Whiskey Park locations, such as New York and Boston.

“As a cosmopolitan city with tremendous energy and a vibrant nightlife scene, Atlanta is a natural fit for us,” Rande Gerber says.

From the contemporary bar to the unique drinks stocked in it, Whiskey Park features a unique style all over.
