Amuse opens: Amuse is a whimsical French-influenced bistro that's been open for about two weeks. The eatery was created by Arnaud Mitchel of Anis and Andy Alibaksh of Apres Diem, Carpe Diem, Carroll St. Cafe and Village Pizza. Amuse offers a whirlwind culinary experience for Atlantans and visitors alike. Open for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, the dishes at Amuse put a playful spin on international food.

The menu encompasses everything from salads and small plates to full-fledged entrees—courtesy of Executive Chef Lenny Robinson (formerly of The Tasting Room, Les Fleur De Lis cafe and Anis Cafe and Bistro)—and many include ingredients from local meat, dairy and produce farmers. Highlights include crispy ginger squid with lime, shisho and chile aioli; ricotta and lemon gnocchi with smoked tomato, basil and pecorino; organic chicken and dumplings; and pan-fried Carolina bass with crispy potato, arugula and lemon roe aioli. Sides are meant to be shared and include roasted cauliflower with almond milk and garlic, pickled brussels sprouts and braised greens. For dessert, the Meyer lemon tart and the saffron creme caramel are both unique treats.

Amuse is located in the former Allegro space at 560 Dutch Valley Road. Call 404-488-1890 or visit www.amuseatlanta.com for more information.

A spot for Indian cuisine: Though Roswell may like a world away to ITP folks, it’s a whole lot closer than India—and despite what Atlantans believe, passports are not necessary when making trips north of 285. And the drive to Moksha Fine Indian Cuisine is worth it. The eatery, which was recently voted the No. 1 restaurant, in Roswell restaurant on Trip Advisor, just re-opened and is serving up authentic Indian cuisine.

Owned by a couple from Southern India and served by Chef Satishan Nair, who once worked at Copper Chimney, a popular restaurant in Mumbai, Moksha is an upscale Indian restaurant. Located in a farmhouse, Moksha offers a serene environment in which to enjoy Indian curries and kebabs, including chicken, seafood, meat and vegetarian options. Menu items include Kori Gassi (South Indian-style chicken cooked in fresh ground coconut, red chilies and roasted coriander), Hara Bhara Tikki (spinach, potato and paneer cheese cutlet), and Lamb Saag (tender lamb morsels simmered in delicately spiced spinach with ginger).

Moksha is located at 1380 Old Roswell Road in the former Lickskillet farm house in Roswell. Call 678-205-5799 or visit www.mokshaatl.com.

Goodbye Cuerno, Hello Lupe: Though we were sad to see Riccardo Ullio’s Cuerno close its doors, we’re even happier to find this Fritti, Sotto Sotto and Beleza Owner/Chef happily opening a new place. Lupe, a Mexican taqueria named after the Virgin of Guadalupe, an iconic Mexican symbol, offers casual dishes such as tacos, salads, quesadillas. The menu includes a few rare specialties like tongue and kid goat tacos.

Traditional plates include pollo en mole (chicken mole), whole roasted red snapper, sopes topped with frijoles Negro, roasted chile salsa and crema Mexicana and costillas con frijoles negros (braised beef short ribs with black beans and rice). The cocktail menu, which features tequilas, margaritas and unique mixed drinks is also a highlight.

Lupe is located in the former Cuerno space at 905 Juniper St. in Midtown. Call 678-904-4584 or visit www.urestaurants.net.
