Atlanta restaurant news: Sept. 15-21
Noche recently added new items to its menu.

Noche, the beloved tapas restaurant with locations in Virginia-Highland and Vinings, has a new menu. Some old favorites like Spanish fried potatoes with red-pepper dipping sauce and pan-seared crab cakes are still available, but the menu has been refreshed with a variety of new tacos, salads and other tapas.

You'll want to look for the grilled chicken tortilla salad with shredded greens, cilantro, carrots and honey-lime vinaigrette, as well as the trailer park taco with fried chicken, queso, lettuce and pico de gallo. You may also want to try the fried lobster tail with chili-apricot dipping sauce, sardines with pickled red onions and chipotle-mango-barbeque grilled salmon with jalapeno slaw.

Noche is located at 1000 Virginia Ave. in Virginia-Highland and 2850 Paces Ferry Road in Vinings. For more information, call 404-815-9155 or 770-432-3277 or visit www.h2sr.com.

Here's to beer: Did you know that Sept. 16, 17 and 18 have been proclaimed Beer Days? To celebrate the last day of Beer Days (and the beginning of Oktoberfest), Hobnob Neighborhood Tavern is offering a pint-and-plate special from Sept. 18 through Oct. 2 for $13.95. The deal includes a pint of German beer served with a plate of the homemade German sausage of the day.

If you can’t wait to celebrate, stop by Brick Store, the Decatur pub known for its beer selection from around the world. There, you can order the Reissdorf Kolsch, a golden German beer, along with Brick Store's well-liked Bavarian pretzels. Or you can head up to Cumming for authentic German fare like wienerschnitzel—breaded veal (or pork) cutlets sauteed golden brown with espagnole sauce—at Gasthaus. The restaurant also serves a variety of German beer.

Hobnob is located at 1551 Piedmont Ave. For more information, call 404-968-2288 or visit www.hobnobatlanta.com. Brickstore is located at 125 E. Court Square in Decatur. For more information, call 404-687-0990 or visit www.brickstorepub.com. Gasthaus is located at 310 Atlanta Road in Cumming. For more information, call 770-844-7244 or visit www.gasthaus-cumming.com.

From farmers market to table: Every Saturday through December, Terrace Executive Chef Thomas McKeown is offering a unique shopping and dining experience for foodies. McKeown will take interested guests shopping at a local farmers market, then return to Terrace restaurant at The Ellis Hotel and prepare a meal using the purchased ingredients.

The Farmers Market Chef’s Table is part of an effort to promote sustainability. McKeown will share details about the sustainability of the ingredients with participants as they shop and eat.

Terrace is located at the Ellis Hotel at 176 Peachtree St. NW. For more information, call 678-651-2770 or visit www.ellishotel.com/terrace/.

Inman Park Restaurant Week: From Sept. 20-26, Inman Park eateries will join together for a dual purpose. During Inman Park Restaurant Week, participating restaurants will offer great food at a discounted price, while raising funds for the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s Atlanta Table project, which donates food to local nonprofits.

Restaurants like Fritti, Pure Taqueria and The Albert and will offer three-course meals for $15; while Wisteria, Parish, Rathbun’s, Sauced, Sotto Sotto and Park’s Edge will offer three courses for $25. Three-course meals at Kevin Rathbun Steak will cost $35. During Inman Park Restaurant Week, diners can purchase $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win a beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres party for 30 friends at Shaun’s. Proceeds from the raffle will also benefit Atlanta Table.
