Breakfast and soup are a pleasing combination at this Grant Park hideaway. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. to serve the morning rush but breakfast is available until it closes at 3 p.m. While the sandwiches are indeed tasty, the soup really is the thing. Hence, the Stone Soup Kitchen name. Spicy cream of tomato, which has been described as “pizza filling without the crust,” and Cuban black bean are available always, plus, there are usually two new soups to choose from each day. Prices rarely exceed $7 and usually hover around $4 or $5 and that makes for stone cold enjoyment.
