I definitely agree with some of the anthems listed! OMG I cannot believe it is a new decade.

MJRIII commented on Leopold and his Fiction, It's Elephant's, The Wild

The West Coast already knows all about the indie-rockers, Leopold and his Fiction. The Midwest and east are in for a treat. If you dig Zeepelin, White Stripes, Kings of Leon; you will want to see these guys perform live. New videos at their MySpace site.

You guys really shouldn;t do this.....you really stink at it. Have you thought about making this a cooking website or something like that?

mdg commented on Best albums of the '00s: the critics' lists

Ahem. Avett Brothers?

Vnlasteamer commented on Bill and Tom Kaulitz (Tokio Hotel)

Sexiest and most talented twins on the planet. These guys are pure love. Chuckling over your classification of TH's music: "glossy alt-pop rock anthems." 5 descriptors? It's tough to put a label on it, isn't it? They just defy genre. They're in a class all of their own.

I love the new album I give it a 5 .

Cyd commented on Bill and Tom Kaulitz (Tokio Hotel)

Wow, that was incredibly insightful. Great mention for the band.

Cyd commented on The Sounds concert photos

The Sounds are amazing! I couldn't get to the couple of shows they just did here. Glad to hear they plan to come back in the fall.

Cyd commented on Beyonce bountiful in Berlin at MTV Europe Awards with 3 wins

"German pop quartet Tokio Hotel" not only "built up a fan base outside of Germany", they also won the 2008 VMA for best new artist right here in the U. S. of A. Very well deserved win both at last year's VMAs, as well as at this year's EMAs, as proven with the best performance of the night. Can't wait to see what they have in store next year when they go on their world tour with their new album Humanoid!

Cyd commented on John Mayer, 'Battle Studies'

I was pretty underwhelmed with this album. I liked his style since the beginning of his career, but this album sounds pretty much the same as his previous albums. It's like listening to the same songs over again with different lyrics. When is he going to show off what he can do to a guitar? He saves all the good stuff for when he's on stage.

This is a well-assembled montage documenting the experience well. I hope the shots got y'all psyched for the Cobo show! Can we purchase photos from the photographers or Newspaper? My fiancee and I are in there under an umbrella sitting watching the acoustic set. Sitting at a phish show - it'd been a while.

BigDaddyB60612 commented on 'O Come All Ye Faithful'

You guys are clearly going for something different here (i.e., anti-traditional). Have fun. I'll stick with Nat King Cole or Johnny Mathis - I'm not scared of the true meaning of Christmas.

BigDaddyB60612 commented on 'Little Drummer Boy'

Got to go with Lou Rawls for the best performance of this song, but Crosby/Bowie is cool.

BigDaddyB60612 commented on 'I'll Be Home for Christmas'

Wow. Aimee Mann. Not even. Give a listen to the feeling and beautiful vocals of Al Green in his performance of this song.

BigDaddyB60612 commented on 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer'

I agree this is a great performance but try The Drifters if you want a really good old school performance of this song, but a more complete arrangement than offered by Gene Autry.

BigDaddyB60612 commented on 'Santa Baby'

I agree that Eartha Kitt's performance is the best. I wouldn't knock Madonna that hard. I'm sure there must be worse performances out there . . . lol

BigDaddyB60612 commented on 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town'

Wow. Bruce Sprinsteen. I should have known. Check out the swinging big band arrangement and incredible vocal performance of this song by Lou Rawls. If it's not on his Christmas CD buy the Ultimate R&B Christmas - pretty sure it's on vol. 1, might be vol. 2. Consider it my Christmas present to you. It's even better than the J5's arrangement.

BigDaddyB60612 commented on 'White Christmas'

Otis Redding puts more feeling into every measure in his performance of this song than Bing put into his whole album. Listen to it with an open mind and an open heart and tell me you don't tear up. Christmas music needs feeling, people!
