Gringo Star, Modern Skirts, Gift Horse and Venice is Sinking performed at the Melting Point in Athens
Athens and Atlanta favorite bands rocked all over the Classic City during Athfest Friday night. Dead Confederate’s front man, Hardy Morris, played an intimate, stripped down set on a side stage under his side project Thomas Hardy and the Outfit while Futurebirds commanded the main stage in front of hundreds of fans. On the other side of downtown, Atlanta band Gringo Star and Athens mainstays the Modern Skirts played the dimly lit Melting Point for the BMI showcase. The dreary weather certainly didn’t inhibit fans. There was barely walking room in the venue.
