Night three: Atlantis
The third night of the Atlantis Music Festival’s artist showcases continued to draw and impress crowds. Vinyl continued to be the rock/ pop epicenter; Star Bar hosted "Southeast Performer’s" favorites and Smith’s Olde Bar rolled out a homecoming for Leslie Fram.
Helios set the bar high at Vinyl with lead singer Carly Kane commanding the stage and the crowd’s attention. Kane’s captivating performance was the first of several outstanding female performances of the night. Later in the evening, the Love Willows showered Vinyl with their technicolor sound making it all but impossible to resist “Falling Faster” in love with lead singer Hope Partlow. The California’s backing of the Love Willows helped make the performance even more sunny and charming.
Across town at Smith’s Olde Bar, Leslie Fram hosted the first ever FramJam spotlighting Americana music. From spontaneous dance offs to sing-a-longs, there was never a dull movement. Clay Cook played several tracks off of his new album, "The Year I Grew Up," while Y.O.U.’s Nick Niespodziani and Peter Olson supported him on bass and guitar. Lauren Staley’s powerhouse vocals and the group’s infectious country/ rock beats made Missy Gossip and The Secret Keepers not only a favorite for the dancers in the audience, but another amazing display by an impressive Atlanta female artist.
Atlantis will come to an exhausting end tomorrow night but not before more great performances on the final night.
