Vote for Cook to win the magazine's Street to Stage contest
Atlanta singer Wesley Cook made the finals of Rolling Stone's Street to Stage contest. He is one of eight musicians competing for a chance to perform at the Rolling Stone Rock Room in Austin, Texas, in 2012—during one of the country's biggest music festivals.
Cook attended the University of the Georgia and now lives in Smyrna. His latest album is "New Ground" and he plays shows throughout the Southeast. In Atlanta, Cook recently played a show with Rebecca Loebe of NBC's "The Voice" at The Velvet Underground at the Hard Rock Cafe. He also performed on the Metromix Soundcheck on 11Alive Morning News on June 10, 2011, which you can see now on Comcast On Demand Get Local ATL.
In an interview with Metromix, Cook described his music: "My sound is often compared to Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Jason Mraz, and Van Morrison among others. It's diverse with world, blues and folk influences, but has an upbeat, beachy vibe that is unique. I'm a positive, high-energy person and that translates very directly into the kind of music I make."
