BET Hip Hop Awards 2008 red carpet
The BET Hip-Hop Awards hit Atlanta, bringing many of hip-hop’s biggest stars together in one place. On the red carpet, Atlanta shined bright with T.I., Big Boi, Killer Mike, Bow Wow, Princess (formerly of Crime Mob), D. Woods (formerly of Danity Kane), Young Dro, Big Kuntry Kang, Soulja Boy, Ciara, along with Monica and Rocko, all representing the A. Russell Simmons, LL Cool J, 50 Cent, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Flo Rida, Plies, Salt-N-Pepa (with Spinderella in tow) and the show’s host T.Pain, along with actors Derek Luke and Jamal Woolard who play Diddy and Biggie in the highly anticipated film, Notorious, were just a few of the celebrities rounding out the carpet.
Some stopped for interviews with Atlanta staples such as V103 personalities Porsche Foxx and Greg Street as well as BET’s own “Black Carpet,” where Q45, best known for hosting “Rap City”, who all held court on the red carpet. Press hailing from as far away as Los Angeles, New York and Houston or as near as MMX clamored for their opportunity to get the scoop. Not everyone stopped to chat and there were some who skipped the red carpet all together but one thing was clear, the night was as blinding as Plies’ jewelry.
