Athens music festival features outstanding Georgia bands

Nothing showcases the Athens music scene, which has a national reputation, better than AthFest and the 2009 music festival was no exception. Held over four days, the festival featured outstanding performances on two outdoor stages, as well as even more music from area bands during the club crawl on Friday and Saturday night. More than 150 bands took part in the festival, including Nappy Roots, Dead Confederate, and the Black Lips.
