Erica Nicole performed on the Metromix Soundcheck on 11Alive Morning News on Sept. 30. During her appearance, she performed "Drive It Away," a special song written by two-time breast cancer survivor, Rebecca Single. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so it was a perfect time to perform this special collaboration. Before her performance, Erica took the time to answer some of our questions.
Who are the band members and what instruments do they play? Bill Cinque (musical director, bass and acoustic Guitars), Joe Campbell (guitarist), Jeff Alan Ross (keyboards and guitars) and Chris Rallis (drums).
When did you start playing together? Three years ago
Where are you from originally? I was born and raised in Atlanta.
Which Atlanta neighborhood do you live in now? Brookhaven, just down the street from where I grew up.
What is your latest project? My new single "Shave" is picking up new stations everyday! I also just recorded the Beach Boys classic "Little St. Nick" (featuring Jeffrey Foskett of the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson on backgrounds) for this Christmas.
For those not familiar with your band, how would you describe your sound? I love country music.
If you could tour with any band current or in the past, what band would it be? George Strait, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson
Where is your favorite place to watch a show in Atlanta? The Fox Theatre is incredible.
Where are you most likely to be spotted hanging out in Atlanta? I love Brookhaven, from the people, to the restaurants to the urban living lifestyle. I love Brookhaven.
When are your upcoming shows in the Atlanta area? The Celebrate the Hope event for Mothers and Daughters Against Cancer on Sept. 30 and the Macy's Lighting of the Great Tree at Lenox Square Mall on Thanksgiving Night.
