Hottest Rocker fan choice: Rick Brantley

Metromix panel pick: Ben Deignan

Ladies and gentlemen (well, mostly ladies) we would like to announce that the Metromix panel has selected Ben Deignan as Atlanta’s Hottest Rocker. Maybe it was the boyish good looks or perhaps they are suckers for the red tie but he has earned the grand prize including a photo shoot with POParazzi Photography, press kit consultation with music publicist Michelle Roche, $200 towards gas or gear and a feature story on Metromix.com. 

When asked to comment about being selected Deignan said, "Thanks so much to everyone at Metromix, I'm honored to even be considered for the top ten and winning it is very cool. I'm glad I'm your choice for Atlanta's Hottest Rocker!"

If you want to see Atlanta’s Hottest Rocker, as selected by Metromix, in person, be sure to check him out live on August 28 at Atkins Park, in Smyrna.  It is a free show and a chance to see that this guy is much more than good looks. He certainly has the voice to match.

After more than 10,000 votes from adoring fans, a fan favorite has been selected. It was a serious race to the finish with a different hottie taking the lead almost every hour. In the end, it was Rick Brantley who reigned victorious. There have been rumors of a cage match to settle the score but until Brantley chooses to defend his title by physical means, he will hold the title of Atlanta’s Hottest Rocker, fan favorite.

When asked about the close race Brantley said, "I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a little gratifying. Now, if I can turn all those votes into a ticket sold, then I'd really be accomplishing something. Thank you to Metromix for the opportunity and to everyone who voted. They saved me from having to fight Trae Vedder in a cage match. Saved my ass."

Hats off to Vedder who rallied close to 5,000 votes from very passionate fans who posted entertaining comments on the Metromix.com message board. There is no doubt that the people in Atlanta think that Vedder is an extremely hot rocker.

“You know, I really did my darndest,” Vedder explains, "Myspace bulletins, Facebook updates, I even stood naked next to Donkey Man, on the corner of Ponce and Highland, with "Vote Trae '08 / atlanta.metromix.com"scribed in pigs blood across my chest. I'm not sure what to say, sure, I am disappointed. Tell that Ricky fella I'm still game for that cage match previously mentioned. I think there could have been a virtual "hanging chad" or something, plus I've still got my complete Hulk Hogan garb at hand, WWF Championship belt included, I'm steamin' mad and ready to settle this thing mano y mano. OK, so none of that is true!  Both Rick and myself are middle Georgia fellows, we love making music, he's super good people in my book, congrats to him and his mother for being able to outvote me and mine!"
