Cheerleaders from the Falcons, Georgia Force, Hawks, the Dream and Chiefs attended the screening
Comcast hosted a preview of "Footloose"—the remake of the popular '80s movie—on Aug. 23, 2011. The screening was attended by Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, who showed an episode of their new TV show "New South" before the movie began. The audience also included cheerleaders from the Georgia Force, the Atlanta Hawks, the Atlanta Dream and the Atlanta Chiefs (a minor league football team that made its debut last fall).
The new "Footloose" stars Julianne Hough, a professional dancer previously on “Dancing with the Stars”, Kenny Wormald, Dennis Quaid and Andie MacDowell. The movie, directed by Craig Brewer ("Hustle and Flow") was shot in Georgia during the fall of 2010. It is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 14, 2011.
"New South," starring the Falcons cheerleaders, can be seen on Comcast On Demand Get Local ATL.
