10. The Walking Dead
"The Walking Dead" disappointed many of its biggest fans with this year's batch of new episodes. They wanted more zombies. They wanted more mayhem. They wanted more 'pocalypse. In short, they wanted more of what we found rather tedious about season one of "The Walking Dead": the cheesy zombie hordes we'd seen countless times in countless zombie flicks, the kill-or-be-killed low speed chases, all that... growling.
Instead, this first half of this past season has centered around two relatively remote, relatively zombie-less locations: a deserted highway encampment and a farmhouse seemingly untouched by the undead menace. Creating an all but zombie-free zombiepocalypse was a risky move for the AMC hit series, but for our money, it was a gamble that breathed new life into the lumbering "Dead."
