The Writers Guild of America announced its motion-picture screenplay nominees in three categories: Original, adapted and documentary. And, once again, several titles making awards noise -- including Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Amour -- were deemed ineligible.

Which does not mean those scripts won't compete -- or even take a trophy -- come Oscar time, since the academy's rules are less stringent.

Here are those that are in the running:

Original screenplay

Flight

Looper

The Master

Moonrise Kingdom

Zero Dark Thirty

Adapted screenplay

Argo

Life of Pi

Lincoln

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Silver Linings Playbook

Documentary screenplay

The Central Park Five

The Invisible War

Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God

Searching for Sugar Man

We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists

West of Memphis

Winners will be announced on Feb. 17.
