What pays the bills? Publicist, Caren West PR

Describe your job: I work for an award-winning full-service public relations and graphic design firm that focuses on lifestyle, entertainment and events. Every single day is different. One minute I may be pitching story ideas or overseeing a photo shoot and the next our team is planning a strategy to execute an event. Some of our clients include the ASO, Fashion Cares, Gerber Group, P'cheen, The Bureau, LUX salon, and Halo.           

Your passion project: We’re lucky enough to be able to be very selective about who we work with, and only align ourselves with brands that we’re passionate about. I’m definitely excited about expanding the fashion arm of CWPR.  

Where would you get “flashed” by Metromix? Unwinding after events at North Highland Pub, The Bureau and P’cheen or drooling over dresses at Jac. 

What is your favorite restaurant and why? I have to have Mexican at least once a week, usually El Azteca. I’m also a huge fan of the fish tacos at Six Feet Under. I had to ban myself from ordering them because I eat everything on my plate and then feel sick.

What’s next for you in 2009? Trouble.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Enjoying a cocktail.

Who inspires you? People who create trends, rather than follow them. I admire anyone who has fun with fashion and isn’t afraid to be on the worst-dressed list every once in a while.

What is an Atlanta event in 2009 that you will not miss? Jeffrey Fashion Cares. I’m beyond excited to be working on such an amazing event this year. Jeffrey Kalinsky is such an icon and pioneer in the fashion industry. Not to mention all the gorgeous clothes at the event!
