The Atlanta singer performed during the opening party at the Midtown hotel
Atlanta singer Janelle Monae performed during the grand opening event at the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel on Sept. 15, 2011. The show included her rendition of the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" and her hit song "Tightrope" off her 2010 album "The ArchAndroid."
The party also included a live DJ in the hotel lobby and samples of the cuisine from the Renaissance's extensive menu at every turn. Guests also enjoyed the fire pits on the rooftop bar. The Renaissance Atlanta Midtown is located on West Peachtree Street in the building that formerly housed the Palomar Atlanta Hotel.
