This weekend is prime time for holiday-related activities, but we're thinking more along the lines of Christmas beer rather than Christmas cheer (though one does lead to the other, right?). Start by seeing "Santaland Diaries," a play featuring the world's most cynical—and hilarious—elf at the Horizon Theatre. You'll also want to catch the Kingsized holiday party at the Variety Playhouse, because nothing will warm your, um, spirits quite like the Dames Aflame dancers. And get your costume ready for the annual Santa pub crawl, which gets started on Dec. 5 at Front Page News in Midtown. However, if you're just not that into the holidays, you can spend the weekend seeing the Whigs, watching the world's best breakdancers or celebrating Primal's first anniversary and not even think about red and green at all.
