Designer to be featured at August fundraising event in August
At a recent party at the W Atlanta-Downtown, it was announced that Jason Wu would be the featured designed for Jeffrey Fashion Cares 2009. The annual fundraising fashion event will take place Aug. 31 at 55 Allen Plaza in downtown Atlanta.
Wu, as you may already know, designed the ivory silk organza gown worn by Michelle Obama on Inauguration Night. The designer's influences include the photography of Richard Avedon and the collections of Charles James and Jacques Faith.
Proceeds for Fashion Cares benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and the Atlanta AIDS Partnership Fund. In 2008, the event raised $800,000, which broke all previous records.
