Art Department hosts Atlanta Creatives Project exhibit by Neda Abghari
The Art Department at Studioplex hosted A Night of Music and Photography, which was the opening party for the Atlanta Creatives Project exhibit by Neda Abghari. The photography show featured portraits of DJs and producers, such as Dres the Beatnik, Le Castle Vania, Rasta Root, Rob Wonder and Vicki Powell. They were shown in their studios and each picture included the DJ's favorite childhood item, objects that ranged from a Grover puppet to a Fisher-Price record player. At the event, there was music from DJs Cullen, Kai Alice, Kemit, Kevin O, Karl Injex and Trauma. In addition to the work that was shown in the main space, portraits of Atlanta musicians were hanging in the smaller gallery at the Art Department. The subjects included Butch Walker, the Black Lips, Deerhunter, Snowden and the Selmanaires.
