Since opening in November 2008 in the long-abandoned spot previously occupied by The Village Sports Bar & Grill, 529 has become one of the city’s best places to see live music and DJs in an intimate setting. Despite being at a prime location, right at the intersection of Flat Shoals and Glenwood avenues in the heart of East Atlanta Village, 529’s tinted windows and unassuming signage might make it difficult to find for those who aren’t already aware of its existence.

Divided into two rooms—a cozy bar to the left and a small music venue to the right—529’s interior allows for casual conversation over drinks while a variety of acts performs on its stage. The bar, which is situated along a wide window, serves everything from $2 beers to top-shelf liquors, with a view of neighboring shops and restaurants.
