It's true— you have a lot of experience with the club scene in town. You were there when Opera was Club 1150 and you've seen Compound open and close and re-open more than once. So while you’re waiting on the next time a club comes to a strip mall (can you say Pure and Velvet Room?), you should check out Club Life. This upscale club and lounge has an impressible atmosphere that allows its patrons to relax and enjoy the finer things—in life, hence the name, which was taken from the now-closed NYC club that catered to the city’s fashion scene. In Atlanta, Life fuses distinctive elements of unique nightlife from around the country, bringing a touch of Miami, New York and L.A. to the ATL.
Located in the old Fever space on Cheshire Bridge, Life opened on Friday, June 12 to a huge amount of fanfare and anticipation. Definitely different than Fever, Life’s decor is sleek, posh and elegant. And from the moment you pass the velvet rope and through the huge columns at the front door, it’s clear that the entire place oozes sex appeal—in a classy way, of course. The 16,000-square-foot, two-story club is complete with three bars serving only top-shelf liquor and three dance floors (one is tiered). Plus, the space houses several VIP areas with bottle service both upstairs and down.
One area is even glassed in for the ultimate experience. The trendy black-and-white lounge decor upstairs provides an inimitable contrast to the stark black and clubbier atmosphere downstairs, which has plenty of dance-floor space. And two DJ booths that spin different music complete the experience. Plus, the lighting and the state-of-the-art technology, sound and acoustics separate this club from all the rest. As a matter of fact, this upscale scene caters to affluent young professionals who wouldn’t typically set foot in a club. And that’s, well, music to our ears even though we’ve been around the club block a time or two.
