The owners behind The Brick Store Pub, Dave Blanchard, Mike Gallagher and Tom Moore took their neighborhood pub concept around the corner to create Leon's Full Service. This converted filling station (hence the name) that was most recently an antique store, has changed dramatically during the transition. They added more space, more light and of course, a bar and kitchen. While it may be unfair it is natural to compare Leon's to his older brother and while they are related there are also many differences. Where The Brick Store Pub is dark and almost cave like, the pastel paint and numerous windows make Leon's much brighter and cheerful. Where The Brick Store Pub is a beer bar with good bar food, it's clear Leon's cuisine wants to be taken more seriously. Even their fries are upscale. Which brings us to the food.

Menu: The menu is broken down into snacks, starters and salads, sandwiches and mains. Some of the snacks include: lug nuts - flavored nuts which change daily, peppadews - which are peppers stuffed with goat cheese, and every cardiologists dream, bacon in a glass. In addition to the familiar mussles and calamari, the starters list also features crispy rabbit tenders, currywurst - a grilled local beef frankfurter with madras curry catsup, and the pig smorgas - benton's country ham, melted gruyere grand cru, cherry jam and pineapple on toast. The sandwiches are grass fed burgers, turkey breast and brisket, among others. Sandwiches come with sides, the most popular being the pub frites which you can get with your choice of one of 12 coatings like cucumber-dill yogurt, goat cheese fondue, garlic aioli or peppercorn gravy. Some of the main entrees include scallops, grilled flat iron steak with zuccini cheddar casserole and ossco bucco with roasted butternut squash, braising greens and Gordon Double IPA jus. Speaking of beer as you may expect. they have a few.

Spirits: Leon's has 12 draft taps pouring beers from craft brewers like Allagash, Victory, Terrapin, and Duck Rabbit. There is also a substantial bottled beer list. The cocktail list has some unique items like the Whiskey Pie which contains Wathens small batch burbon, apple pie liquor (who knew?) dupont pommeau, and whiskey barrel-aged bitters. There is also the Three Hour Tour - lemongrass and ginger infused tequila blanco, domaine de canton, pureed strawberries, and fresh lemon juice. There are also more wines then you would expect from the owners of one of the top beer bars in the country. All of the twenty plus wines are available by the glass or the bottle, and most bottles average between $25-$35.

Atmosphere: When the weather warms up this bustling bar will open it's windows and doors to a spacious patio so you can sit back enjoy a beer and maybe even play some bocce.
