This time of year, cranberries might conjure up memories of a canned-shaped jiggly blob passed around the Thanksgiving table, but don't let that tarnish this fruit's reputation. Cranberries are tart, tasty and currently in the peak of freshness. Why not sip a seasonal spiked cranberry cooler to usher in the holiday season? You'll be grateful you did.
Livingston Restaurant+Bar: Marquee
Cranberry and orange make a killer combination and the Livingston showcases the combo in its fall cocktail called the Marquee. It's made with Prunier Liqueur d'Orange (think Grand Marnier with a punchier orange flavor), housemade ginger puree, cranberry and candied ginger-a flavorful cocktail that's perfect for the season.
Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar and View: Pear
The Sun Dial's cocktail, which is called Pear, fuses floral hints of honeysuckle and pear with Grey Goose La Poire. The Pear pairs (like how we did that?) the subtle taste of pear from the vodka with the milder flavor of white cranberry. It's not your traditional cranberry cocktail, which is exactly what we like about it.
Carpe Diem: Partropolitan
It's entirely possible that cranberry is best known for its rendezvous with vodka in the Cosmopolitan (or the Cosmo for those of you more intimately acquainted with the drink). With the belief that everything is better with a bit of Patron, Carpe Diem reinvented the Cosmo with its tequila-based drink the Partropolitan. Patron, Cointreau, lime juice, cranberry juice and blue curacao give a twist to the girls' night out favorite.
Park Tavern: Chilly Willy
It's chilly outside, but the Chilly Willy at Park Tavern will warm you up from the inside out. The drink starts with Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey, a sweet twist on the Jack you love that has a hint of honey. Next up, a flirty new vodka brand, Wave, in the whipped cream variety is added. Finishing off the cocktail is a splash of tart cranberry for balance. We give kudos to Park Tavern for combining two new liquors for a tasty seasonal treat.
Market at the W Atlanta-Buckhead: Market Maple Rye
Cranberry and orange meet again with the Market Maple Rye served at Market at the W Atlanta-Buckhead. This time, blood orange and cranberry come together with Rittenhouse rye whiskey and maple syrup for a drink that tastes of fall flavor.
